The Astra, New York City

Alexandra & Ryan /weddings

made it official on October 1st, 2011!

I loooove shooting weddings in the big apple.  So after chatting with Alexandra & Ryan about all their plans for their city wedding, how excited they were to take some cool shots around the city and how special the Astra was (their rockin' venue under the 59th street bridge - classic!), you can imagine how thrilled I was when they booked me on the spot!  I knew right away we were going to have a lot of fun. And we did! We dodged the rain perfectly by shooting in Riverside Park early in the morning, then after a beautiful ceremony we were able to hit the streets again for some more great city shots... my favorite!!  The party in the limo was fun, but the dance floor at the Astra was smokin', and I couldn't help but feature some of those crazy times I captured as their friends ripped it up on the dance floor.  And thanks to Adam Bordonaro, head chef of the Astra, for setting myself and Alena up with one of the best dinners I have ever had (except for my husbands of course!).   I have to include the following note from Alexandra that she sent me after I showed her the slideshow of her pictures.  It gave me the biggest smile... thanks you guys for a terrific day :)

...I received your email with the slideshow and I am honestly speechless.  I've probably watched it now about 30 times…no joke and each time I'm both smiling and tearing up b/c it is just truly a beautiful work of art how you captured our wedding day.  Everyone I have sent the link to has said the same thing…"your photographer is a true artist and an incredibly gifted woman".  Suzanne, you have blown me away w/ this slideshow and I cannot wait to see the rest of the pictures.  If this is any indication for what is to come I am THRILLED beyond belief.  Thank you again for all your hard work and dedication, and just being an all around awesome person to work with.  As I've said you were by far one of the best things about our wedding day.  We couldn't be happier that we had the opportunity to work with you, and I hope there are occasions in the future where we can work together again.  Best, Ali

Central Park engagement session

Caron + Ali/ e-session

We happened upon the one sunny day all month it seemed, when Caron & Ali & I met for our e-session in Central Park.  The light was perfect, the park was not too crowded, and Caron & Ali were the perfect lovebirds to spend the afternoon with.  I can't wait for their wedding next summer!  I am so glad we had this opportunity to get to know one-another, it's going to make the wedding day even more fun :)  Good luck with all the planning guys... see you in May!

Club Getaway, NY

Kristin + Drew  /weddings

married ~ September 24th, 2011!

If you want to have a really special adventure wedding week-end, check out Club Getaway!  Kristin & Drew planned a three day extravaganza complete with all kinds of outdoor activities, and with the help of Leslie, the Club Getaway coordinator extraordinaire, they and about 125 of their guests had an action packed awesome time, complete with swimming, zip line fun, relay races and plenty of good food! I loved capturing all the special details that went into their day ~ sunflower bouquets (Julie loved her florist Lori Tanguay), purple heart converse wedding shoes complete with bling(!), their butterfly kiss send off, and their dog Caruso's purple tie (matching Drew's!).  And what an ending to the night as their rockin' Jersey band Juliano Brother's danced us into the wee hours... it was such a treat to cover this jubilant occasion :)  When Kristin & Drew saw their slideshow, Kristin sent this lovely note to me ...

"WOW!  That is all I can say.  When we ventured into this "unique" wedding, as people tried to put it nicely, we just wanted everyone to be able to relax, enjoy themselves, and celebrate.  After the wedding, we really took time to reflect on everything and felt that we really achieved that vibe.  However, seeing them captured in the most incredible moments is priceless.  You really grabbed the love we felt and the sheer sense of joy that I truly feel everyone had!  You did an incredible job and we couldn't thank you enough!  Now that I have seen this (and cried!), I can't wait to see the rest.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for capturing the true beauty, love, and FUN from our big day!
Love,  (and CHEERS :))
